The Life of Christ: The Basis of Faith
Jesus is the central focus and figure of the Bible. The Bible predicts His coming thousands of years before His birth, tells of His life and ministry, recounts His death, details His burial, announces His triumphant resurrection, and shows the remarkable changes in the lives of His followers. Knowing Jesus is the beginning and the end of the Christian faith. Through this yearlong study, you will lead your students to come face to face with Jesus Christ, the Son of God.What does the Christ Bible Study cover?
The Christ volume covers virtually every aspect of Jesus’ life and ministry, including:
- Old Testament prophecies about Him,
- The events surrounding Jesus’ birth and young life,
- Jesus’ ministry, including His miracles and parables,
- Jesus’ interactions with various people,
- Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection, and ascension,
- Jesus’ coming return.
Your students will be exposed to the remarkable story of Jesus in a variety of ways. As you journey throughout the year, your students will be challenged to learn with their heads, their hearts, and their hands.
Your students will constantly be challenged to learn about Jesus with their head—to learn what they need to know about Jesus. This type of learning stresses a basic understanding of Jesus. But students will be challenged to go beyond simple understanding, moving to application of what they have learned.
Your students will also be challenged to learn about Jesus with their heart—to allow God to transform their feelings as they look at His Word. What your students know about Jesus and what He did for them should affect them emotionally, not just mentally; they should learn to value the things of God.
Occasionally, your students will be challenged to learn with their hands—to learn what they should be able to do as a result of their commitment to Christ. Students will be able to apply a specific skill or discipline after studying Jesus’ life.
Your students will be fully engaged in the story of the One who lived, died, and was raised again to restore their relationship with God.
